I often notice within myself and the self-help or manifestation spaces this orientation around fighting with our inner Desperation and trying to fix it away because there is this belief that feeling desperate for something that you want is “wrong” or “shameful.”
There’s this idea that if you feel Desperate’s presence beckoning you for your attention you will “push away or repulse your manifestations.”
What if that’s a shitty method though?
In various kink communities, some people get turned on by desperate energy. Others get turned on by being begged to get railed or watching you humiliate yourself and feel needy for them to f*ck you.
What if God, the provider of your manifestation, feels bricked the f*ck up by your desperate energy that lives in side you and it’s not the desperation that pushes the manifestation away but you shaming your expression of it (therefore denying God’s ability to get off on it)?
BARE WITH ME FOR A SECOND … I know this thought is radical, but I am going to explain it further.
What I find pushes manifestations and goals away almost ALWAYS and actually delays the timeline it arrives in your life is RESISTANCE and not an emotion that feels “negative.” It’s when we criticize ourselves for very normal emotions that create tension (AKA any emotion we don’t like to feel) in the body that we become energetically repulsive to our desires.
Shame is the underlying mindset that forces you to try and “fix your pain” because when you feel “negative” you are “pushing away your manifestations.”
This is a fundamental misunderstanding of how this process works because it assumes that God isn’t a kinky motherfucker with a degradation kink.
Think about it for a second: “Negative” emotion is ALWAYS there at least 50% of the time in our lives. No matter if we have our dream jobs, soulmates or whatever, we end up wanting something more and feeling tension around not having that thing.
God/Nature/Universe/Great Mystery made the human experience inherently one of tension in order to grow. Tension, like a compass, reveals to us the “X that marks the spot” on the treasure map of our human main quest for life.
So what if instead of judging yourself for feeling Desperate (which is like judging God for their kinks), you instead made out with Desperate?
What if you imagined Desperate standing in front of you and you said, “Fuck you really want that job/soulmate huh? Fuck babe, it turns me on to see you beg. Beg for it. Show me how badly you want this. That’s it … you’re such a good boy/good girl. I love seeing you beg.” Literally imagine this is the relationship God has with your Shadow. Imagine yourself spitting in the mouth of Desperate and praising them for how they beg. Make out with them. See yourself or God fucking the shit out of them.
Show the Darkness how deeply devoted, turned on, and electrified you are by their texture of aliveness.
Praise them for helping you feel the full extent of human emotion.
Write them love letters, and say “YES YES YES SHOW ME MORE CAUSE I LOVE YOUR HUMANITY SO MUCH.”
What if that liberates you and makes you more magnetic? What if God is now even more bricked up/wet for you and wants to give you even more because you met the DARKEST PART of God’s creation with LOVE and DEVOTION and an erotic and electric “YES, HARDER DADDY,” instead of cracking the whip of shame assuming that your humanness is wrong?
Below, you will find a guided journaling/visualization exercise to help walk you through this process:
Step 1: Name the one goal or desire you have that you feel DESPERATE for. Pick ONE.
Some examples are:
a job you’re awaiting to hear back for an interview
to be loved by the person you so desperately want to pick you
to lose 10 lbs
sing some clients
a more muscular body
a viral personal brand on social media
getting an invite to hang out with the people you most admire
etc.
Step 2: Write down and OWN the following sentence:
